Choosing The Correct Tube

In a tube type tyre, the tube retains the air pressure which in turn has a direct effect on the performance of the tyre. The selection of a proper tube is crucial for optimizing the performance of the tyre.

  • You should always match the tube size to the corresponding tyre size. To determine the suitability of a tyre, consult the manufacturer about a specific type of tube for a particular type of tyre

  • Tubes that are too large or that have been used frequently may develop creases which can lead to deflation or loss of air within the tyre and loss of grip on the road

  • An undersized tube will stretch too much, resulting in loss of physical integrity at a quicker rate

  • Always make sure that a new tyre is fitted with a new tube

  • The failure of a tube in service may cause a tyre to fail along with it

  • Weak and creased tubes are unsuitable for service and should be replaced with new tubes

Look for these tube markings:

  • Tube Size

The tube can be fitted with the tyre sizes: 2.75 - 3.00

  • Tube Manufacturing Date

Different manufacturers use different systems to mention the manufacturing date.
